1988 New York State Police Special Service Mustang

1 of 40 used in New York State

DSO 13-0490 Buck Tag Included

Used by the NYS Thruway Authority:Assigned # 7004

NYS Police VAN# 88411

License Plate# 4T-87

Titled and Owned by me personally since 2004

Let me start off by stating the first picture is not this actual vehicle, but how it should look once fully restored. I purchased this NYS Police Mustang in 2004 with the intention to restore this car to like new, however my body man got very sick after he removed the right quarter panel and the car has been sitting ever since.

The car needs a full restoration as you can see from the pictures. It ran and drove great in 2004 when I delivered it to the body shop for the restoration. The previous owner decided he was a body expert and decided to strip the paint off the car in some areas as you can see from the pictures, it does have a lot of surface rust. The body is very solid and the only rust hole is on the floor boards near the clutch pedal. The right rear quarter panel will need to be replaced, as the previous owner butchered the repair from a previous accident. Carfax report is clean with no accidents reported. This car needs to go to a good home!!!

I have the full interior which has been stored indoors including headliner, interior panels, seats, bolts, screws and nuts. Headlights, tailights, Unity Spot Lights and exhaust parts too. I have so many extra parts I cannot even remember right now, but the winning bidder gets it all.

Included is Brand New Ford OEM Front and Rear Bumper Covers(just removed from the boxes to photograph) along with every new moulding to go on this car. Receipt from Ford Dealer pictured for the new bumpers and mouldings, cost me $ 1,200.00 for these parts, most of which are obsolete now!!!

I have the engine and transmission stored indoors too. Ran, shifted and drove very well, but I cannot guarantee the car is numbers matching however.

Please bid only if you are serious. The car is located in Pleasant Valley NY 12569. The winning bidder will have to come with a car trailer and a pickup truck in order to get the vehicle and all its accessories home. Don't even think about shipping, as there are just too many extra parts to go with this Highway Patrol Car. This car has a lot of potential and I just don't have the time or the money to get into it any deeper. There are only a few New York State Police Mustang survivors out there. Visit www.sspmustang.org for specs or further info on what a SSP Mustang is.

That's funny... That guy is asking a lot but I think he is justified with the NOS parts he has.

I thought the same about my CHP. It can be done but I'm too old, don't have enough time left. Doug

Since I'm from the rust belt, I'd be willing to bet it was rotted out there, pretty common in places that use salt. Doug

Maybe he'll throw in the car if you buy the moldings...
