Here's one for you:

Can't tell if it is a true CHP car. I like how he states that "Police" on the title is merely a novelty.

Good find....it is a CHP car. VIN is about 50 away from Matt's '85 CHP.:)

Awesome interior and except for the wheels, it looks like the car is all there. What a rare find, especially these days and a four-eye to boot! Anybody know if there's any way to obtain keys and still keep the single key lockset intact?

Any locksmith can cut a key for the lockset if you bring them one of the locks (preferably the passenger-side door lock, since it will probably have less wear than the drivers-side). I did this for my '83 Texas car, which came with an ignition key, but no door key.

Supposed to be. Its Black now. I wish they would have left it alone. If I find tan interior in the future I might put it back in.

I figured it was....interesting, because the VINs are all consecutive for the '85 order (at least the ones we are talking about) and the cars came with two different interior colors. I've seen different DSO codes, like the FL unmarked cars, for different options, but this is the first time I noticed that the VINs were consecutive and the DSO the same (I think).

I've got the money for it but it's sure a long way off from me. Sure looks a little rough for me. Rare find - yes. But I wouldn't have the patients to finish it. Someone should grab it just to save it for now.

Anyone here planning on bidding?

Seriously...it looks like it needs some help, but it isn't all modded out and the original interior is still there. Build-sheet anyone?

If I had the time, money and place to store it I would be game for another one... To many projects right now along with NO money or job and next to no space to store it for future restore...

I hope some one grabs this car up before it becomes a race car or just scrap metal.

bidder number one puts in a big bid 28 minutes before the auction ends. bidder number 2 (obviously a shill) starts bidding in small increments (nine bids) until he gets bidder number one into the car for 1625.00. Naturally bidder number two doesn't make a last second bid hoping to get the car. He probably just bid all he wanted to pay....

people will just never learn...........

Bidder 1 buys a lot of CHP items and has beaten me out of a number of them on eBay in the past few years. He seems to have deep pockets and I suspect he lives in this state or close by and is restoring a CHP sedan. I may even know him thru the hobby...I'll make some inquiries. Hopefully, this means the car is in good hands.

yeh he recently bought a hurst olds roller for 18k so i imagine the money is no object. my suspicions are with the number 2 bidder who bid nine times in small increments to run up the price......

another good example of why you need a sniping service or need to bid within the last ten seconds.

It still went pretty cheap....I have no idea what Ebay is thinking with this "Bidder #x" junk, but it's just like having a private auction. I just don't buy the "we're protecting bidders from scammers" explanantion.

No need for anyone to worry about this one, it went to a collector and it's in good hands.

great to hear it went to a collector. too bad he got screwed over by "bidder #2". I think Ebay is making it easier to be unethical instead of protecting anyone. Ebay has one thing in mind guys....the almighty $$$$$$ sign.

Mystery is over guys:D Bidder #1 was my dad:p
I found this thread while looking at who was online (guest was looking at it), then I put 2 and 2 together :D (wheels, missing keys, 1600 price, bought a hurst olds(along with 9 other rare muscle cars on ebay for a friend btw), ect). It is unit #408362. Short time after the auction, my dad won a set of freshly powdercoated SSP rims on ebay for this car also. Gonna start the resto possibly early next year on it too:D
