Hi,
I may finally have a paint guy lined up, does anyone know the correct paint codes for the '82?

I think Bernie gave me this link...it's a good site for looking up paint formulas (for the newer cars):

1C and 9D for the '82:

Is the 1C and 9D all they will need?

What about the eggshell black on the grill and trim?

I would think that they'd be able to cross-reference it with the old paint codes, but if not, you can probably just use the newer codes. I doubt that the colors have changed that much over the years, and you are probably going base/clear with it anyway, right?

I thought about it, and I wound up deciding on the base/clear, even though it is a few years too new for the car.

I'll be doing the same with my older cars...can't beat the finish compared to the older single-stage paints.

In Dupont 1-C is basic black, part number 99S & 9-D is pn. 43326 which is off-white not bright white. Doug

I am kind of afraid that the modern codes that reference the old codes will somehow be different. I know that some colors in the hobby, Chicago PD blue from the old blue and white days, didn't translate into modern color systems well. I am really going to be ticked if I get this done and the white is a couple of shades off...

The paint numbers I gave you are right from the 1982 Dupont paint book so there should be no problem as long as the person mixing the paint knows what their doing. Doug
