Selling my 1988 New York State Police SSP Mustang. It's 1 of 40 used by the State Police in 1988 and probably the only 1 of 3 left in the country. Fully restored and has original buck tags and State Police tags. The car runs/drives and looks like it just came off the assembly line.

The underneath is as nice as the exterior and the interior is original and like new. Real Decals/Radar/lighbar etc. This is the real deal.Everytime I take her out for a drive, it turns into a major topic of conversation. The only issues are the speedo stopped working last month.(Needs tailshaft gear) A/C system needs updating from original. Mileage is an original 122,000, with original engine/tranny. Other than that everything down to the brakes/rotors/calipers and wheel bearings are new.

Here is the problem: New York State still uses this color scheme so I cannot legally sell it to a NY resident, as they could get arrested if they drive this on a public highway, I guess trailering would be fine, but the State V&T law specifically mentions how it is NOT legal to drive a blue/gold retired State Police car on a public highway!!!

I have a ton of $$$ like 27K$$ into this car and I'm open to offers, I'm not in financial trouble, and I don't want to do the ebay thing because I'll have to remove the stripes and lights. I just have too many cars and my wife is driving me nuts, because my yard and garage look like a used car dealers lot. I am adding more pics, but here are some to start. Visit my album at:

Thanks for the nice comments. I was buying and driving these SSP's when there was not too much known about them from the general public. This site is great and what an awesome support network. I thought I was the only nutcase that was addicted to these cars!!! I know I will kick myself someday for even listing this car for sale, but it's either the SSP or the wife, and she'll cost me a lot more in the long run. Joe

With two wives behind me, I can vouch for that!!
