Hello to all here is the 93 City of Colton ssp I purchased back in October.I would like to thank several folks who have helped gather up the equiptment that was in the car while in service .When I was down at the yard picking up the car i was fortunate to speak with Mr Graefe who is the service tech who did alot of the work over the years on the mustang.Mr Graefe put me intouch with Detective Morenberg who was assigned to the car for a good part of its service with the city of Colton.I have had several long conversations with Morenberg and he informed me that this was originally a black & white that had spots on it and was used for traffic enforcement. If i recall right it was used this way for the first couple years of service before being painted all black and used for detective use.Detective Morenberg was gracious enough to track down the controller, rear deck lights, front steady red light, the siren, and several other items and send them to me.He also sent original ssp manuals ,his daily log book used for the mustang ,original key,and the ticket book used for the car.Mr Graefe also helped in tracking down those parts and sent me a file full of the computer records showing the service records.I flew down to Colton and drove back over 400 miles back to the Bay Area doing 80 the whole way and it ran like a champ!! My plans are to keep it the way it was in service i have had thoughts of repainting it and repainting /repairing some of the interior pieces but i have decided that it will stay AS IS except new carpet/headlights.I know everbody has different thoughts on have far to take these my personal thought is i want it to remain as it was in service!!!!! I will start rewiring all the equiptment shortly and post more pics soon.Detective Morenberg is aware of this site i will see if he will join and share more history and stories of this ssp.More to follow!! Thanks Joe

Looks good. Got any interior pics?

I think that you've got to get rid of those turn-down tail pipes though. Just a thought.

I have a '93 California SSP which started out B&W, but not necessarily a CHP car. I'm still waiting for a reply from CA DMV on that. Anyway, it got painted gray after that, then green as it sits now. It sat in Las Vegas for some years and the sun took its toll. Plus, I'm not so into the green and would like to repaint it. Looking at your Black car gives me an idea of what mine may look like.

Good job, you can't ask for better support for your restoration than that! Would be interesting to see a photo of the car when it was a marked unit, did you come up with any?
