Looking for a stock premium sound AM/FM radio for a '93 Mustang. This is for my Goddaughter's 4cyl. conv. Thanks!

Just to see if I'm getting this right...you're looking for the stereo that came in a '93 Mustang from the factory? The one that had the equilizer mounted below?

I need the factory radio but do not need the equalizer. Just the AM/FM with cassette. Thanks

O.K. When you said "Premium", that threw me. I've got one sitting in my garage. What are you looking to pay? I'm up here in MI. I'd say $20 + $10 for shipping. But you may be able to find one locally for less. Let me know if that interests you.

If I remember correctly, the 93 premium sound did not have the EQ set-up. My feature car has every option available and has the CD player with the open tray underneath. The wiring harness is also slightly different between a 92 ( EQ ) and 93. The two do not interchange without modifying the harness.

You are right. No EQ, and the new-style cassette player with premium.

Toshi's was a '90 model so I am still looking - thanks folks.

Gregg,

Does the color of the illumination matter? I think you can find these, just like the '93-only CD player for Foxes, for later Fords on eBay just in varying shades of blue-green on thr illumination. I used one from a '95 Probe (IIRC) in my '93 until I found the "correct" one for my car.

Color of illumination is not critical, just need to be sure of the plug ins on the back being the same as the '93 so that the harness and amplifier will function.

Thanks

Ok...Here you go:

There are more like this on there also. If my memory is correct, non-premium, like the SSPs, are just the two rectangular plugs, while the premium is a rectangle with the square (upper right).

If it is hacking up the wiring harness you are worried about, you can go to Crutchfield and get an adaptor to plug into the factory harness. No cutting involved. Then you can install what ever stereo you'd like. That is what I did with both my '90 & '93.

Oh, and the stereo I have was actually out of my former '88. I've had the stereo so long, I had forgotten!
