rare...but very rusty. seller has another car to sell with it for parts. Hopefully this one will get the restoration it deserves.

Absolutely eaten up with rust...but I sure hope someone snags it. That's only the second one I've ever seen for sale.

Boy ,if I had the time and $$$$...:Wow:

time, money, fenders, doors, quarter panels, decklid, hood, front bumper cover, rear bumper cover, carpet, seat material, and all the other items under the car that you can't see???? it is saveable but its a huge project. It is rare due to none others being restored because the other 39 have probably suffered the same rusty fate. The car would be nice restored though as the NY marked cars were very nice looking.

You da Man!! I would love to do a NYSP car, not so much for the rarity but mostly because it's my "Home town" and I think it's a nice looking setup.

No offense intended to either the buyer or seller....

But that's about $5,000 and 3 pennies too much. I love these cars just about as much as anyone else does, and I firmly believe that the car is salvageable, but WOW.

I love the fact that people are willing to spend that kind of money. It sends a shining example to others as to how much our cars are really worth.

or.....maybe it sends a shining example of how some people have more money than sense?

either way.....its their dime, ...so they can spend it how they want to.

that is a 3000.00 car all day long guys.

Maybe I should put my '83 Colorado car up on Ebay....and then I can retire. :dancingbanana:

It really boils down to the market.....what car it is and who wants it. In reality if you really really wanted a NY SSP then your choices are fairly limited. I've paid a lot for parts before simply because I needed or wanted them....too much I've thought at times but sometimes if you want it and the supply is limited you don't have much choice.

Most of us personally wouldn't have paid that for the car(I know I wouldn't) but if someone grew up in NY and just had to have one of those cars it's not like he can just pick up an auto trader and buy one.

I am done buying cars...at least for the time being. :)

I'm almost done buying the parts I need for all of them, and now the real work begins (s-l-o-w-l-y).

"Done" buying cars and "Almost" done buying parts. I'll take that bet on both counts!:D Your never "Done", it's called temporarly broke.
