I am planning my 2nd car show for this year. We were worried that it wasn't going to happen due to the economy but a sudden, unexpected surge in donations have boosted the interest in this fun event so here are the details:


2nd annual Joe P. Collins Memorial Car & Truck Show
Benefiting Hospice in the Pines of east Texas
Saturday, August 1st, 2009
9am to 2pm
Entry Fee: $20.00
Location: Petsmart Parking Lot
Corner of Tulane Drive and South Medford in Lufkin, Texas

TOP 40 Awards & Trophies
Top 20 for vehicles up to 1950
Top 20 for vehicles 1951-2009

Plus we'll have:

Best of Show Car, Best of Show Truck, State Trooper's Pick, Hospice in the Pines Staff Choice, Longest Distance Award, Best Camaro, Best Mustang, Best Convertible, Best Mopar, Best Corvette, Best Street Rod, Best Import and People's Choice (4 foot trophy) and Coordinator's Choice (3 foot trophy).

If enough police cars (at least 2 or 3) can commit, I will add a Best Police Car Award.

RESTORED police Mustangs welcome - which is to say no in-service police units or DARE vehicles.

Two Best of Shows at 3 feet tall and the People's Choice Tower stands nearly six feet.
