Got them done for the Calypso car. The Guy that did my seats wasn't there so I had them copy the old one and I attached them myself...

I don't have a sewing machine or the knowledge to sew. If $40 is "crazy money" to make your car look nice, then I guess I'm crazy.

The elastic material in the map pocket goes away with time and stretches out of
shape but a better replacement is the 3/4 inch material available at Wall-Mart...
Anyplace that has craft's and yarn should have this stuff just replace the old stuff with
this and you good to go for another 20 years or so! and you don't need a sewing
machine just 3 dollars + tax and a needle n thread.

Chris....seen your post just as i was getting ready to post!
If you have something to work with this post above may help
Or if you are starting out with nothing (as i did) good luck? I have
looked all over and was very happy to find the one i did
even in need of repair!

I think that the problem starts with the sagging.....end result is that once it sags enough, opening and closing the door tears the map pocket up. $40 is a decent price for brand-new vinyl (sewn to look like the original). Andy makes good point about the elastic too. I've heard that you can also just cut the existing elastic shorter, but you lose a little of the functionality of the pocket.

That's what i meant when I said I didin't know how to sew. The vinyl had been damaged on my car so I needed new ones(POCKETS). If they had just been sagging I could have just changed the elastic and been done with it. It's just stapled in.:banginghead:

I knew what you meant...I don't think Andy knew that your pockets needed to be replaced.

That's pretty impressive. Mine are shot, too but in a way it kind of gives off the "wear" look that goes with a police car.
But if I had a choice, I'd get them redone. I've just never trusted anyone around my car for any length of time - even if I am present.

I had a new windshield installed last October and I stayed while they changed it out. I made sure they understood this was a SHOW CAR and very fragile and to be very careful. But of course, even with my standing there one of the hired hands didn't put my spotlight back in place and opened my door and the spotlight caught on the door and chipped the paint.
People just don't understand.
They offered to fix it but I didn't have the patients or time and I just didn't want the hassle! GEEZ!

I damn sure will never recommend them to anyone!
STAY AWAY from Glass Technology in Lufkin, Texas!!!
