Thanks to Mustangpro for posting a google news link and among other things I found this from the Miami Herald.
Miami Herald - March 22, 1988
BROWARD BLUES MOTORIST STEALS TROOPER'S WHEELS
Car 1672, where are you? That's what the Florida Highway Patrol was wondering most of Monday, after a stranded motorist took off with a trooper's 1986 Mustang after the lawman stopped to help. The car was found Monday night, abandoned in Coconut Creek. It was the second time in two weeks an FHP car was stolen in Broward County. Shortly after noon Monday, Trooper R.V. Thomson stopped to help a disabled 1980 Ford pickup on Florida's Turnpike.
Apparently there was 100 pieces of crack in the disabled truck.
I'm sure we will find all kinds of interesting stuff.
