The Michigan State Police has recently revised the Unity roof beacon on patrol cars. The rotator w/ two bulbs has been removed in favor of a stationary four sided LED. It is very bright, can be dimmed at night, and a neat idea to keep the traditional look of the department.

Photo of light. I tried to post up a short camera video of the light in operation but can't get it to work, Mike?

That is awesome. :2thumbs:

You'll have to post the vid on photobucket or the like...then link to it (embed it) here.

Joe,
I'm glad they kept the single light and the hood sign. I grew up seeing them. They are unique and a good conversation topic.

I can attest to the brightness. Even though it was raining I had to put my sunglasses on.

If any of you ever get to Lansing, be sure to stop by the MSP museum and EVOC track. It was a great time this week seeing Bruce and Joe again. I will have some other information about my MSP car hopefully in the near future.....;)

A buddy was just commenting that the light he saw on a MSP car was different. He was asking around thinking he might have been wrong. Now I can set him straight. He'll be happy about that.
