I don't think I'll be getting any more of the correct microphones with the CHP radios that are on the way. They are pretty hard to find, and the ones that are out there are usually in poor shape anyway. Here's what I did, though, with my system, and I have an idea for anyone else needing them. The mic on the left is an original one, and the one on the right is an NOS one I picked up on Ebay recently. I swapped over the special PTT rocker from the old mic to the new one, and it looks great. I didn't bother making any of the internal connections, but I guess you could if you really wanted to (and had the correct internals). Anyhow, the mics that will work for this are the older version, and I have no idea what the model number is. An easy way to tell is by the phillips screws on the back of the case. I've seen the newer ones with torx heads, and even a combo torx/phillips, but the straight phillips is the way to go. Eastwood products makes a plastic casting kit (it's like $69), and I'm thinking about buying it and making some of the rockers with it. What do you guys think?

Here is a pic of the backs of the mics, and a second of the internals.

Here's the Eastwood kit. http://www.eastwoodco.com/jump.jsp?itemID=2132&itemType=PRODUCT

I think it may be worth a try.

:)

I bought 7 NOS mics the other day, but they aren't this same style. I needed a couple...2 for the FHP cars, 1 for the CSP car, 1 for you (3 spares?).

Anyone want to weigh in on this one? Let me know what those of you who need these think. :)

Matt,

I know...but if you are the only one, I'm not sure it'd be worth the time/trouble for me to buy the Eastwood kit and go that route. If we get 4 or 5 guys who need this, I'll go ahead and buy it.

Anyone else?
