I'm excited about the 2011 3.7L V6 (305hp) and the 5.0L V8 (412hp). I'm sure that the dealers will be including a big ADM (add'l dealer markup) like they were doing when the S197's first came out. Ford fans may not like the new Camaro or Challenger, but compeition is a good thing cuz it forced Ford to improve their offerings.

Good point but here is how to deal with that. What I did in 05 was to order mine on 1st day of orders (about 4 months before production) That was before they started that despicable practice after the release in March. They cursed me for that for 3 years until I got my Bullitt and got even by charging me 2K extra. The way things are they may not be able to get away with it now. People are getting wise. I have 2 friends who have 1st year GT 500's who paid WAY over and will never see it. Now its my turn to pull the same early order trick again and they may not argue with me this time, Get them in January, thats when they are the weakest all year. Im just waiting for the unveiling Monday

Nice video and thanks for posting it up Charlie. That's a good point you make re: the dealer markup...will be interesting to see if this is done as it has been in recent past. I'm afraid probably a good chance it will and buying when demand is weak is certainly a way to try and mitigate the practice.

I agree....Competition makes Ford's offerings better. I hope that they keep this in mind, though, while they try to push that FWD Taurus on police departments across the country. History may be about to repeat itself.

I'm thankful that we are in this "muscle car period" and think that we should enjoy it while we can.

Glad you were able to get around that, and I agree that it's a despicable practice.

It sounds like it'll be a great car for the $$$. I still want a GT 500, though.

I wanted a GT500 in 07 but the dealers all lost their minds and tried to gouge everyone. Then in 08 I had a dealer offer me one at sticker price which given the circumstances was still just a dealer trying to hit a big lick.

Finally in 09 I was able to buy one as it rolled off the delivery truck. It was still in the wrapper and I got it for invoice minus the dealer holdback. Turns out it was a blessing in disguise as the production numbers for 09 were less than half the 07 or 08 years plus I got a car that was built with the upgraded clutch and flywheel assembly so it will not need the TSB done on it.

I just looked at a 2007 GT500 red with black top vert. The car has 1400 miles, one owner, etc. etc. This guy got gouged hard and paid 10K over sticker when he bought it. He offered me the car for 32K and although I will regret it I passed on the car. He sold it a week later for 32800.00 and was very happy to get it. He says he lost over 20K on the car. That is why you never ever pay those jacked up ludicrous prices for these cars. A lesson he learned the hard way.........

Me too! Especially since I wasn't driving age during the original muscle car wars.

the first car I bought was a 69 Nova SS 396/375 hp L78 car. Bone stock with 35k miles. Man how I miss that one. I moved on to big block chevelles then bought a 427/435 horse vette vert factory side pipe car with a four speed. I sold that one and a low mileage 1970 1/2 Z-28 to buy my first house in 1979.

I owned a freaking fortune worth of cars and had no idea at the time..... :No no:
