Hey what's up everyone. I just got a 93 SSP CHP! It's DSO #72 009 which is on the door tag and the buck tag behind the tail light. Right now it's in primer and I'll have some pictures up asap.

Welcome STARSKI! In another post I just commented on your DSO#. I've also got a '93, 72 0009! And yours is 009?! Very interesting.

That is very weird, mine actually is 72 0009 so we have the same DSO? Is that possible? Here's a couple pics of mine: http://gallery.me.com/starski#100110

I'm planning to somewhat restore it, but as a daily driver. I'm more trying to do a resto-mod thing with it. To where I restore it but do certain mods that make it better as a driver.

That's what I'm doing with my 85 CHP. A previous owner added the larger 11" 87-up front brakes, and the suspension was beefed up as well. Since I like to drive it so much, I plan to keep it as a better-than-stock driver, without going too far that the car couldn't easily be put back to stock. Sounds like you may have a similar plan for yours.

Yeah that's pretty much what I plan on doing. I want to try and find out some more info about the car. What's a good starting point? Contacting the CHP? My GF's friend's BF is a police officer but not CHP but I was gonna see if he might be able to ask them or something.

Yes, our DSO's can be the same. Where it will vary will be on the second buck tag. I couldn't see the second one in your pics very well. Here's what my second buck tag reads:

2660 LX2 LX E2 111908
AC HB
SK
G6 PF 1016 720009
2 111908 50

Where our cars will vary should be where mine says 111908. I think that this is the build number?

I've contacted the CHP Motorpool on my car. They said that it's been too long. And that our cars were around before they started putting all their information on computer. All the paper records are gone. :-( I've also got a CHP buddy that could not find anything. If you get a good lead, maybe you could help me find out about mine, too.

These were put on with a paint pen and many times are still visible in relief, even if the surface has been painted over (and not sanded). Two other places to look where it sometimes shows up is on the face of the front license plate cover (in grease pencil) and the back side of the rear seat cushions (in felt pen).

Thanks guys, I just got the whole cooling system done, new hoses, water pump, thermostat, and a extra duty 3 core aluminum radiator. So the cooling system should be cool for a while. Also since the car was lowered it was leaking oil out of the oil filter because it was hitting the sway bar, so I had to get a shorter oil filter put on, and I got the oil changed as well.

Sounds like someone tried jamming one in there anyway.

CHP? I don't think so. It was originally painted B&W. You can see those colors in the engine bay and around the roof & doors under the other two colors its has. Medium metallic gray is the second color. Still under the hood and trunk and fuel door. Reef Blue is what the main color is now.

There are no holes anywhere for anything CHP equipment wise; antennas, radios, spotlights... I'm thinking that it was shipped off to serve some type of government job. DEA or FBI maybe. That maybe why the gray color on top of the B&W. But I have nothing to back that up.
