Turns out the transport truck had some issues !! So, i find out last night on my own that the guy dropped my car off at a storage yard 4hrs from here and never called me !!

You wanna talk about being pissed off all of last night ! after i payed permium $$$ for the delivery , at least keep the cust posted ! Right ???

I told the transport company it Better be here today or i want half my money back and i'll rent a trailer and go n get it the rest of the way ..

It gets better guys , I got lucky and found a trooper plate for my car on CL and had it shipped to my house , some dip shit plowed my mail box down with a trailer !!! dam it !! and yes the plate is now damaged .

what luck !

Picked up the Stallion just a bit ago .
It's a white 88 Colorado State patrol SSP .lots of documets on this one .
the car is in super staright O rust condition , all orig panels ,paint exept the roof possibly from the light bar ?? Unit# 246, still has it's roll bar but no padding .the interior looks like day 1 other than the typical driver seat wear n tear, the carpet even has a shiny look to it .
As per previous owner , his wife drag raced the car and before that his buddy's wife raced it also.. It wears some racing components to show its past life which will be put back to ssp stock componets little by little .
more info and updated pics later next week after a good scrub!
the following pics are while still in Colorado.

Just a note of caution to folks...I picked up several Trojan viruses during the course of viewing the pics @ the link provided. I'm in the process of trying to remove them from my computer. I have good up to date virus software so should be ok but I know others don't always keep current on that software. I'm not very knowledgable about how all this happens but wanted to give a courtesy "heads-up" to others.

But I digress. Congrats on the new SSP! Bringing a new one home is an exciting time, so enjoy yourself. :)

Hector, can you compare that number to any in-service shot(s) of other CSP cars that show their tag? I'd say the chances are pretty good that's the right number.

I noticed the 68k mileage amount. Do you know at what miles they ended the in-service life of this Mustang? Can you tell whether that document was from when the State Police still owned it or after it went to a civilian owner?

The link below will allow you to look up varoius State Trooper license plates.

http://www.statetrooperplates.com/sp-hp.htm

Is the in-service picture you had on Photobucket that actual car or just an example of a CO one in-service? I don't know much about the Colorado cars but didn't notice a plate number like your document on the link above. Not sure if they had unmarked cars or not and whether would have had diff't license plate configuration.

Hector,

That's probably the first plate that was on the car after it sold at auction. Your in-service plate was the car's unit number.

Guys , Upon further document reading i answered my own question on the plate #.. the lic plate # i posted earlier is after auction ! sorry .
looks like the State last smoged the car i 91 at 90k miles and then went to auction.

As far as what plate belongs on the car and what it looked like this is what i found on statetrooperplates for a mustang up to 1989.
The above in service plate pic may of been up to a 93 mustang ..???

The MO door brackets were made for a PR-24. But some Troopers have told me they shoved their Remington 870's into them!

Hector,

The mounting holes on your door were for an in-house-fabbed shotgun shell holder. I know it sounds weird, but CSP screwed them into the door (webbed material with elastic for the shells). I have an email somewhere from the trooper that drove my '83 describing it, but I have no idea how long they were or how many shells they held. My '83, which is still original down to the paint, has the same holes in the door panel.

You should have several holes on the top of the rear driveshaft hump. This is where the shotgun rack was mounted. The shotguns were Remington 870s with folding stocks, and they were stored with the stocks folded up. The Trooper that drove my car described that as well, and I'm sure his memory was correct; he killed a suspect while driving my car with his shotgun.

You guys may remember that my Colorado State Patrol graphics permission was under way.
It has been granted! graphics should be here a week from today.
this has taken several months to complete but well worth it.
The graphics were expensive but again well worth it !

Evil, Drama,
The initial cost for the setup of the graphics is going to save you guys a lot of money , this is because i was charged a fee to redo the door decal as they only had GM car at CSP to go by.
The flying wheel art rework was $225 alone! yes , $225.00.
I will post pics with them on the car as soon as they get here. The permission states they must be magnetic ! that's fine with me as the car just came out of storage and is making trips to work.

The decals were done by the outfit that does all the CSP cars.
Major Bratt set it all up once the Chief gave the ok and they met up with me at the CSP Academy upon arrival.
Jim , have you sent your permission letter to the chief yet ? I know it took me several months for it all to work out.

Looks great, Hector. Got an email from Major Bratt today asking for my DOB to run the background check and saying that he should have the signature from the Chief next week. Hopefully, it won't be long before I have my set of decals!! Although, I'll have to re-size the flying wheel logo down a bit for the Camaro's door. You really paved the way for the rest of us and that's greatly appreciated. :)
