Is the registry of VINs @ .org known to be accurate for '82? More specifically are #s 213035, 213036, 213037 definitely CHPs?

I was checking the accuracy of the full VINs that I created from that partial VIN list, because I thought they were all P10F models. I've figured out that all three were hatchbacks (35 = GL, 36/37 = GLX), and that 213036 and 213037 didn't even have a V8 engine.

Maybe some of you already knew this and I'm just rehashing old news?

(35 = GL, 36/37 = GLX)
Correction: 35 = GLX, 36/37 = GL

Fox,

I'm sure that the start of that list was done using the same method you are (changing the check digit and last 6 of the VIN). We haven't seen anything here paperwork-wise to verify the starting and ending VINs (or the "protoype" that's at the start of the list).

I wonder where that list came from?

And I thought the "prototype" was verified as being unit #1963 (http://www.specialservicemustang.net/forums/showthread.php?t=1497&highlight=1963)?

By the way, I did check that whole list of VINs and all but the three I posted above are indeed P10F (5.0L coupe) models.

Here is what I have come up with for the above-posted VINs:

1FABP13F6CF213035 - 5.0L GLX hatchback (Carfax = 1 record, Autocheck = 5 records)
1FABP16B7CF213036 - 3.3L GL hatchback (Carfax = 3 records, Autocheck = 1 record)
1FABP16AXCF213037 - 2.3L GL hatchback (Carfax = 1 record, Autocheck = 0 records)

Also, that list @ .org has three duplicates (213093, 213094, 213122) so the total there is actuall 404, not 407.

I did the same thing awhile back with the '83 FHP cars and some of the '83 Texas DPS cars (Carfax). Since the cars were VIN'd consecutively (for the most part), you will normally see a batch together like that. That's where it the list of '82s came from, if I had to guess.

As for the #1963 car, the guy isn't a member here any longer, but never posted up anything to verify the story on the car on any of the usual websites. He may very well have documentation proving that the car is what it's purported to be, but I've never seen it. I asked him directly, here (more than once), and he never responded with anything to show that the two cars are one and the same.

He posted the VC Label in his Fototime album (link in the above linked-to thread) and there was a '1963' paint mark below it on the door. Don't know if that's proof enough though. He also typed out the codes from the Buck Tag in that thread.

Yeah...I'd need something more if I were looking at purchasing it as a "prototype", and the first "EVOC" Mustang for CHP. It wasn't a special-order (no 6 digit DSO) and the ordering office is 48 (Detroit); not one of the internal Ford DSO numbers.

Lots of claims were made on this site (and others) about the car, including pics from the CHP at the time of sale, it was the first EVOC car, etc. etc. etc., but I still haven't ever seen any of that documentation posted anywhere. It could be the real deal...or not.
