Does any know if they were used on 1986 FHP mustangs? Mine had a GM alternator installed when I bought the car.

I don't know if there is a marked difference between the 9135F and DF. They weren't used on the '86, though.

No, since the 86 FHP didn't use them. But what's interesting the 85 FHP I 'am selling to Donny has a Lestek external voltage regulator on it. Maybe it was added while in service? Or the early FHP cars had only the Lestek regulator?

Brian,

That is interesting....The 1986 brochure lists a "Police Special Transistorized Voltage Regulator" as part of the Special Service Package. The 1985 brochure doesn't have a section dedicated to the Mustang, but I can check the one I have here and see if one is mentioned (I only scanned the front and rear covers for the '85).

Here is a pic of it. I was suprised to see that it was still on the car.

I haven't seen that before...on either of the '85s I've had.

I'll take another look at it tomorrow. The wiring is rough, but I don't think it was spliced in later though.

Here's another pic of it, the wiring is beat up but it looks like it has always been there. The car also still has the ground straps surprisingly enough. My 86 at one time had an external voltage regulator on it too. Mike does your 85 FHP have any sort of external voltage regulator on it? The same question goes to Jim Young on his 86 FHP.
