Contacted seller. Does not have title for Minnesota car. Not much left of car. Trying to get up there to look at it. Will call him again tomorrow to try and set up a time. Doug

Thanks Doug. I've have a little more than 1/3 of the Minnesota SSP VIN #'s documented so if you could take a picture of the Door Sticker w/the VIN and options for me that would be a great help. Also if it has the Buck Tags I'd appreciate a photo of them as well. Will hopefully be able to document the VIN's to all 20 eventually. Thank you.

Were all Minn. cars blue or were there other colors used? By the looks of the pics this one was white originally. The radiator support and where mouldings have been removed shows white. Doug

Doug - They have multiple colors. I'm aware of Dark Shadow Blue Metallic; Bright Regatta Blue; Bright Red (I believe this was the shade of red) and a burgundy color guessing Medium Cabernet was the name (??). I haven't head about white, but it's possible since they used various colors. Maybe another member here will know.

Were you able to see it and if so did it have the Ford door tag still? The left side of the dash also was where the MSHP put an inventory sticker but I'm guessing it would be long gone from the car.

I tried calling him again today but he didn't answer. Tried several times. Will try again tomorrow. If I can connect with him & agree on a price I'm going to pick it up. Doug

First of all, thanks Jack for posting the Craigslist ad for this car. I went and looked at the car. The guy that has it now got the cars in their present condition. He originally got it to use for circle track racing. He had no idea it was an SSP. When he found out it was, he thought about it differently. This car was in very, very nice shape before someone cut it up. For a car that spent it's entire life in the rust belt, it has very little rust. The buck tags & the door VIN sticker are intact. It says Minnesota on the buck tag along with Special Service Package. It was originally White. I didn't take my camera along because I took my trailer along to bring it back. Well, the wheels on it are from a 4 cyl car and they hit the calipers so it couldn't be moved. I will be going back up there in the next couple days (with a pair of 10 holes) to pick it up. When I get it home, I will post pics of it, the good & the bad. Now, here's the thing. Knowing full well that I am insane, if I can get the title located some how, I will put this car back together. Being 1 of 20 is enough reason. I have all the parts I need in my collection except the certified speedo. It may take a while but I think it is worth it. It won't be concourse by any means, but I believe it will come out nice. Doug

I am glad it is being saved and not going to be parted out then crushed. A bit of history (1 of 20) that would have been lost forever.
It is great that you are going to be fixing her up.

This car never had a spotlight, has p/w, p/l, tilt, AC of course, auto trans, 2.73 rear, and heated rear window. I stand corrected on the color, it is 1K which is smoke, with gray interior. Interesting. Doug

This is a new VIN # for me so we now have 8 of the 20 Minnesota State Patrol SSP VIN #'s identified. Once I hear back from bluesspcoupe with his VIN # that count will increase to 9. Not too bad and little by little we'll hopefully identify most of them.

Hi Doug - As promised I've just copied you on an email to my Minnesota State Patrol that has been so very helpful. This way you can begin to correspond directly with him and hopefully learn some more about your car.

One other comment...I believe color code 1K for 1989 is Light Grey and that Smoke, which I think may have had same colde, was actually a 1988 color. At least that is what I've noticed in two of my reference materials that decode the door stickers. Please feel free to correct if I'm wrong, though. Just the same very awesome color! And for me this is one more color I've now learned the MSP purchased when sourcing their 20 Mustangs. Nice!
