14th Annual Chicagoland Emergency Vehicle Show

One of the largest emergency vehicle shows worth going to in the Midwestern US put on the weekend of August 5-7th, 2011. See all the details for the show at:

There are usually over 170 emergency vehicles of all types that go here and would be nice to see some SSP guys show up here too!

I was there last year and met a good friend and his family. I was the only SSP there. I had a great time so it would be nice to see other SSPs there and meet members.

I would like to make this one some time. It get's kind of tough because the local Mustang club I belong has our Mustang Memories show at Ford WHQ that Sunday. Had about 630 Ford vehicles there last year (probably 90% of them Mustangs). The projection is closer to 800 vehicles this year, which should be interesting. Maybe I can get a few days off....catch the Friday and Saturday CEVS happenings and then get back in time for Sunday at Ford WHQ.

Just dropped my registration in the mail. Will be going in the 1992 Michigan State Police SSP. Anyone else here attending? I'll be there for Friday and Saturday elements of the agenda then heading back to Michigan so I can make my local Mustang Club's big all Ford show on Sunday at Ford WHQ...expecting about 800 cars this year.

Mike I had planned on attending but my parents will be here till Sunday morning that weekend. I am going to try to make it next year for sure though. Take some pictures and have a good time.

Just a few days away from CEVS and related events. From what I've noticed so far, seems like at least 4 SSPs attending. Anyone else here going with vehicle or w/out? Really looking forward to it since my first time attending. I've already connected w/some folks w/other vintage police cars to caravan from the west side of MI into the host hotel. Thanks.

I've been going non-stop for the past 3 days (2 days at CEVS and all day today at Mustang Memories show @ Ford WHQ) so I haven't had a chance to post my CEVS photos on my Fotki album yet. That being said, I'll wet your whistle a little with the attached, which pictures my 1992 Michigan State Police SSP and Copper's (George's) 1993 Wisconsin State Patrol SSP. They sure make a nice pair, don't they?

I added George's old 1993 Wisconsin State Patrol SSP to my stable about a year ago, so I now own both of the SSPs picture in the post immediately above. Haven't spent as much time with it as I'd hoped so far, but have intentions for this year. This hobby has afforded me the opportunity to meet and develop friendships with people I likely wouldn't have not have otherwise met. I miss George's camaraderie in the hobby and spending time with him at various car shows.
