Hi Wynne!

Were you ever able to get the California DMV registration records for your 85 CHP? It would be great if you rec'd that and learned the original CHP license plate number (w/ unit #).

Which piece do you need exactly? Perhaps a member might have an extra one lying around. Have you checked on FEP for it?

Wynne, here is the link to the info on getting the California DMV registration info -

Be sure you include a legitimate reason for your inquiry. Based upon my choices, I said that I was restoring an old CHP police car and needed to verify that the car had never been reported stolen. It would be great to learn some of your car's history with the CHP.

Best Regards!

thanks Bill, I have been checking FEP with no luck. I need the piece right in front of the drivers side door. The soft moulding on the front fender.

Wynne, you should contact CHP8336 (http://www.specialservicemustang.net/forums/member.php?u=347). Rich also owns an '85 CHP Mustang, and he occasionally turns up some interesting four eyed parts in his visits to his local junkyards in California. Rich is a good guy, if you haven't talked to him before, and very willing to help out.

wynne,

can you use one that needs refinished/painted or are wanting an NOS one in the original gray finish? I will look at what I have. I think I probably have an extra.

Wynne,

PM me your address. I will send you one as I have several extras. It will need to be painted and new adhesive tape added but it is a nice moulding.
