Wanted to post some pics and info on 1990 Unit 217.
Thanks to Mike (NHPcars) i was able to speak with the trooper who had this car its entire service life and solve a lot of mysteries surrounding this car and get it as close to how it was.

Car was assigned to Trooper Bailey #243 and stationed out of Las Vegas.
He told me some very interesting inservice stories about the car!

It wore two lightbars during its service life.
Had a Whelen Edge strobe on it as a test piece. Same as the "Raid" Drag Car. The lenses were in the same sequence as the race car and my car was nicknamed the "Baby Raid Car" by the troopers. He told me he had a pic of the two cars parked next to each other somewhere.
Car later used the Fed Sig mini aero bar and had silver wheels on it during its service life. It never used a Jetsonic.

I did the interior install per how he described everything to me and what i have seen in service pics. I believe this is probably as accurate as possible.

The car used the older motorola scan head setup and NV mounted a steel plate to the dash top which everything mounted upon. My car still had the indentation marks of where it was at on the upper dash along with the holes.

These pics are from the Long Island NY MCA show last weekend.

Really one of the nicest and most sharp looking SSPs out there Russ. Great to have all the history on this car now too.

Looks great Russ. I have to admit, I wasn't to sure about that Edge lightbar on your car. Everytime I see a pic (or avatar) of it I keep thinking you were using a bar that NHP didn't use until later. Now it all makes sense.

Russ,

That lightbar looks great, I have always been a fan of Whelen stuff. I am sure that really puts out some light at night......That may be my new favorite SSP :D

Yes definitly an oddball, but I heard it straight from the horses mouth.
He did tell me a story how he ran the car in code down the vegas strip once and how he remembered how neat the strobes looked while doing it.

Suppossedly has pics of the car, but was also suppossed to send me one of his license plates which still hasnt arrived in six months....so I am not holding my breath anymore.
I am thankful for what info I did get.

Hopefully nhpmike will eventually dig up pics of the car.
I am ready to throw gatorbacks on it and make it a trailer only car. I have a whole list of little detail stuff I still want to do to it.

Big thanks to Mike (NHPcars) he was very persistent and was able to get me one of my cars original license plates from the trooper who had my car, Trooper Bailey 243.

Plate looks at home just like it did 20 years ago!
