I am creating a 1992 CHP camaro out of a monogram 1/8th scale 85 iroc camaro. I haven't found any passenger side and interior shots of the CHPs yet that I need for scratch building the eqiupment. Anything is appreciated.
Thanks.

Try posting over on .org in the Special Service 'B4C' Camaros area.
The only interior shot I recall - I could easily be wrong - was a quick glimpse from inside the car looking out on an episode of Real Stories of the Highway Patrol. Even then, you didn't get to see the equipment layout.
I have a 1992 Colorado State Patrol Camaro and finding an interior photo was one of the most elusive things yet in the restoration of my car. Finally, my friend that used to drive one found a pic and sent me a photo scan from when his car was on display for a public affairs event.
I would love to see what you find and the pics of that model kit when you finish it. I remember when that kit was new. I worked in the toy/hobby business in the late '80s.

Thanks, I was banned on the ORG site so I cant ask around on there(I've tried searching for a while but couldnt find anything). After searching google I found a few more shots I needed of a Camaro so all I need is the interior.
Does anyone know what color combo the interiors are? My dad said tan seats with black carpet.
Thanks

Sam I hope you realize your being banned there was thru no fault of your own. Don't let it diminish your interest and enthusiasm for these cars. There are many members here that will try to help you with your search for pictures. Thanks for your contributions to this site. The pictures you have posted are priceless !! :2thumbs:

For reference, the interiors were tan in color and the radio in use was the GE S8XX series as seen here at a very good CHP radio reference spot:

Hope that helps some... I'll keep looking for an interior shot.

Thanks guys! Those photos helped a lot:2thumbs: . The largest part of this build is the lightbar, as I have to make one from scratch(car may be lightbar less for a while).

Another question. Does anyone know the correct length of the whip antenna and roof antenna?
Yes but I have to look it up when I get home.

Curious if anyone has photos of Ryan's car (interior)?
And - anyone know what the pod configuration is on the Vector lights?

The lighting sequence for the vector light bar should go like this. The point light was a steady non rotating red. The two lights out bound from those were clear take down lights that could be steady white lights or 360 revolving. the outer two from them were one blue/ yellow insert on passenger side and one red/ yellow insert on the drivers side. The inserts had to provide yellow light to the rear to comply with the vehicle code. These could rotate or wig wag depending on which mode they were in. Hope this helps.

Interesting - A Vision bar vs. a Vector. And yes - thank you for the info, Don!
And thanks for the added pics. Wish we could see the shotgun setup/radio setup inside the car. :)

Thanks guys!:) Great photos and info.
Does anyone know of any small lights that can rotate or anything that can make small lights rotate? If I'm gonna make such a large scratch built light bar I might as well try and put in rotating lights :D
And I might have found the "best" dash pics I will see. I also completely forgot the camaros had shotgun racks. LOL. Maybe because I hadn't seen an interior pic:)
I also got some pics of mounting holes off a real 92 CHP:D
I will post pics;)

Sam, are you building a vector/vision bar for another car?
You can see the rotate function when hooked up to a SS2000 unit here.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=me3sTmpKiGA - Around 1:15-1:45 in the video.
Although it appears the CHP didn't use the SS2000, but something in-house made that worked somewhat similarly:

Thanks for the links!:)
I am actually going to build a 1/8 scale lightbar:D
If there was someway I could make small lights work with a 1/1 scale control head and make the lights flash like in the vid...
This may be a complicated build. lol:)

This is the car that was restored and sold on ebay. This is when it was being stripped (note the newer colored decals, you can tell the car was repainted with it having those).

OMG - Wow. THANK YOU for posting these!! Pure gold. I have, to this day, never seen the inside layout of a 92 before. Pretty sweet.
Curious - who has which #s? I believe 2926 is now in Norway (or somewhere that direction from when Matt Speith sold it).
2927 and 2928 - who has those now?

You guys are all welcome:)
2927 - Still with CHP
2928 - I don't know. I thought you might know, Ryan. Since you almost bought the car, I thought you would know.
My dad has, IIRC, 2917 at his restoration shop. The owner has other CHP cars too (not my dad;) )
And I believe 2916 exists.

I know where 2922 and 2921 are. 2928 was a speculation. The guy I almost bought from in LA gave me his VIN # - and Aaron and I thought/guessed it may have been 2928, but without seeing the car in-person to see the #s, we never knew. The seller at the time could not make out any paint #s on the door.
As far as I know he still has the car - he upped his price by almost double the last time I talked with him - so that car will likely sit in LA for some time to come.
