I got 2 mounting brackets from Galls and created my own bracket from them. I mounted the light upside down (original installer for MN State Patrol verified that is how they did it in 89) and attached it to the center of the light by removing the top acorn nut and replacing it with an open nut, made a short threaded rod from a bolt and mounted it to the bracket with an acorn nut. I found an existing single screw hole in the headliner (probably from the original 5.0 light installation) to the right of (about 1") the visor clip mount and used that hole to mount the bracket with a single screw. I installed a new headliner trim piece (hole free) and hid the wiring. I still have use of the visor clip too. The bottom of the bracket is even with the bottom of the rear view mirror and the mirror wing of the light tucks in between the rear view mirror and the windshield. It worked out better than my greatest expectations!
