Hello everyone!! I frequent sspmustang.org so and I've only been here a couple of times. I don't know who is here and who isn't so I thought I'd do an intro for myself here. Sorry if it is repetitive for some of you.

So my name is Brian and I recently bought my first SSP. An 89 Nevada Highway Patrol Mustang. I was told about this car by NHPcars.com Mike. Mike is a really great guy. My wife and I had the privilege of meeting him a couple of weeks ago at the Ripon Police Car show.

My SSP is very stock and unmolested. Exactly what I wanted and was looking for. She is worn but I can handle that. My plans for my car is a restoration on it. I am looking forward to getting her mechanically sound and wearing the blue and silver she once had. So that is it for now.

Thank you. Brian

Hi Brian! Welcome to the forum. :)

That Nevada car of yours is a great project, for sure. I was surprised it took so long (relatively speaking) for Mike to sell it. Please keep us posted (with pictures) as you work on the car. And feel free to ask questions as you go.

Hello.
I didn't buy Mikes 88 or 85. I bought an 89 that Mike had found in Carson City. I will difinetely keep you all posted once work commences on it. I am really excited to get it mechannically sound and wearing its in service colors. I know I will have plenty of questions. Thank you all in advance!!

Yes it would be great to show them off together. I was wondering where that 85 NHP went here in California. You are about 1.5 hours North of me. Have you done much to the 85 yet?

Really cool car to start with. Was this the one that was a lighter blue when in-service w/NVHP?

To my knowledge with the evidence I have found, yes this car was a lighter blue. The paint code on the door sticker is "3R"--- Medium Shadow Blue Metallic. Areas where the paint is chipping off shows this blue. I have found no evidence of a darker blue. In the pics below you will see the circular cutout from the left rear fender where the hole saw cut the hole for the whip antenna. I found this piece, and the backing piece for the antenna mount, when I was snooping around the rear inner fender areas. Some of the other pics are areas where the paint is chipping off. You can also see the inside of the trunk, the door jambs, engine compartment, etc. being a lighter blue.

I think that will be real sharp and unique in the lighter blue. :2thumbs:

Welcome to the site and congrats on the purchase and acquisition. My first Mustang was an '89 Mustang LX Hatchback and was that exact color, with Regatta Blue cloth interior. A beautiful blue and even more unique for NV I would think. I can't wait to see the finished product. Best of luck.
