I checked out our page of consecutive 1986 VIN's (http://www.specialservicemustang.net/VINlist/86VIN.html), and that number is not grouped with any other cars in batches of 3 or more. But it is possible that individual SSP's may have been manufactured that were not grouped together.

For those who don't know the drill, check CARFAX to see if the car was shipped to the area you think it may have served. Compare the date and mileage at transfer to see if that is consistent with cars being run-out by agencies. In terms of being able to check the car out, look for specific SSP options, 6-digit DSO's that may match up to other known SSP's, and tell-tale signs of prior police use. You can also cough up the $$$ for an Eminger invoice or Marti Report.

It's in a group of two...

There are instances of verified SSPs being in groups of only two consecutive or a single VIN.
