Those are a good replacement option for those with '82-'84 SSPs, but they aren't the correct cap.
At one time, I found some NOS ones and even sold a set of spares that I had to someone restoring an '84. However, after seeing some better in-service pictures surface, I confirmed the part number for the correct caps, and ultimately found a couple of sets.

These are the correct style caps. My dad has a few NOS ones for our cars as well:D

Couldn't you buy the escort caps, and strip the black paint off to make them look more like SSP caps? Just if you can't find any nice SSP caps for sale?

You could use them as-is; or strip off the paint if you really wanted to. The problem is the material that they are made out of. The ones on ebay are heavier and more like polished stainless, where the ones you posted are a thin pot-metal-type.

Here is a good side-by-side, from the Tech section:

Mike would these caps be a good secondary cap until the right ones are found.

I think so. I'm keeping an NOS set of them for that reason.
