Hi, I have an original Mustang SSP that was used by the Oregon Police dept. I am based in Australia - so doubt there are many or any other here. I recently bought a set of center caps for the original steel wheels. The back ones fit fine but the front ones would not clear the center axle as they weren't deep enough. I assume the front ones must have been deeper? Or has the front axle of my car been modified in some way? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Mark

The caps you have are for a Ford escort. The hub on the SSP caps are .75 longer. You can modify the Escort ones to work. http://specialservicemustang.net/forums/showthread.php?t=398

Thanks for the tip. Mine are the chrome finish ones - so I'd have the get them plated. Do any members have 2 x chrome center caps?

Why would you plate them if they are chrome?
