When I bought it in New Mexico...3/2010 The first item of business was to throw the chrome fender lips in the garbage. Thanks, Martin for keeping it in pretty original condition.

After a 2,063 mile road trip to VA .... and a quick wax job....not bad... next to go was the huge antenna, and the gold 5.0 badges...

a few items found down in the trunk fender well after removing the trunk panels.....

drilled out the bondo in the quarter and roof for the antennas, stripped off some paint in the door and trunk jambs, found a nice set of ten holes to put on until I repaint the originals... it looked nice until I started fixing door dings!!

A big step, dropped off the 1987 to be painted back to black and white. Stripped out the headlights, tail lights, and the 1/4 windows.

Looks good Jack, are you using a shop in the Midlo area or did you have to go outside the area for your paintshop? I'm curious because I'm looking for a shop that does quailty work on a resto. I've found most shops only want to do insurance work, I guess I don't blame them.

The black 10 hole rims are back on with some Goodyear Eagle GT II's...I have been repainting trim and installing the refinished quarter windows. While the interior is out I will be replacing the heater core, then the interior will go back in.

Making progress...

Worked on the wiring for the CC1 and got the radio tray with radios in. I had some trouble with the siren. I could get the pa working just not the siren until I realized I needed an ignition switched wire to the ign terminal on the CC1. Then it worked.... I think I have a short in my drivers side spotlight. It works intermittently as you turn the handle when hot wired, but not through the CC1. I will figure it out, I am just glad 99% of it works.

All in all not bad for a siren box made in the 1980's.

Now to put in this CHP fuse block.

Fuel pump replacement. Since I had the tank out I replaced all the rubber gaskets and the cracked plastic piece around the gas tank filler neck. The good news was that there wasn't any rust in the tank.

A familiar scene...a few years back I had to drop my tank after failing the sniffer portion of the smog test. Fumes were detected at the rear of the car, cause was a rotted gasket atop the tank.
