I recently found out that on our door tags, under MDLG. that XXX means that there were no mouldings installed on the doors. My door tag, under MDLG. reads A. What does that mean?

Also, below the door tag I have another sticker with a series of numbers. Does anyone else have a similar sticker?

The A is for black moldings.

Triple letters were used from 1987 through 1989.
Single letter was used from 1990 through 1993.

For 'aero' SSPs I have so far seen the following:

1987-89 = XXX
1990-91 = X
1992 = A, D, F, G, H, I, J, K, L
1993 = A, C, D, E, F, G, H

Hmm, black moldings on a '93? I thought they were all body color then.

Duh! After I went to bed that occurred to me. My car was black and white! Of course black! But what about the doors?

Did B&W CHPs ever have molding on the doors?

I believe that the moldings were shipped loose in the trunk of the car when they were delivered.

My DSO number is 21 0517. What does the 0517 stand for? Thanks Tony

Since moldings were body color that year and your car had a regular production color (EL Wild Strawberry Metallic), I would imagine that the "I" Mldg code on the door tag means Wild Strawberry, or something similar. I have seen one other door with the same Mldg code, and that was also a '92 painted EL (Pennsylvania State Police NF109533 (http://www.specialservicemustang.net/VINlist/PA/1992PA109533/info109533.htm)).

A DSO number of 0517 means it was special order # 0517 for that model year.

As Fox Chassis stated I does stand for Wild Strawberry in the 92 model. This is the same as my 92 PA SSP. But this information came from a 1992 Ford factory Shop Manual. I have aquired manuals for 1991 through 1994 and 2000. If any one needs information from one of these manuals let me know.

Alright...so we established what the "A" stands for, black mouldings. What about the numbers on the sticker below? 80003006?

Could it be a fleet number or a state asset number? Just a though on my part.
