Hey guys! I OK'd the bodywork/paint estimate for the SMPV, so it will be showing some progress soon. The idea is a pre-restoration; i.e. making it less of an eyesore. I will certainly be posting pictures along the way.

I am in need of a complete set of windshield trim pieces, and the rubber beltline moldings just ahead/behind the doors. Anybody have some they want to get rid of? :)

Don't have windshield trim, but I can check my parts car for the moldings :)

Thanks Sam. Let me know. It looks like I may only need the ones behind the doors.

What do you mean 'pre-restoration'?

What do you mean 'pre-restoration'?

As the car currently sits, it is difficult to see the beauty that lies beneath. I plan to do a full-blown restoration at some point, but with Jack being a HS Junior and college fast approaching, I want to make the car more presentable for now until I can put the money and time into it. So it will be repainted in single-stage white with the lower bumpers in black. Once I am ready, I will blow the car apart and remove everything from the chassis for a proper resto. I intend to use the single-stage repaint as a base to replicate the layers of paint it would have had while used as a SMPV. By that point, I hope to have found a low mileage 85 GT to use as a parts car, and make the SSP as close to factory-correct as possible (in its SMPV livery).
