It should say "Certified Calibration" It will be a 140 Speedo in 87 to Mid 89 Cars, Late 89 to 93 cars have a 160 speedo

Rico, are you looking to buy just the speedometer or are you looking at a FHP Mustang? I couldn't tell from your wording. If you are looking at a possible SSP, what is the VIN? You could check our VIN Project (http://www.specialservicemustang.net/VINlist/VIN.html) to see if the VIN falls in line with other confirmed FHP Mustangs.

EDIT: There is a block of 1989 VINs (KF225602 - KF225713) which are most likely FHP Mustangs but none have surfaced with documentation for our Project, and we have not confirmed them with Marti Reports (yet). There are a group of FHP Mustangs towards the end of that same VIN batch (KF225714 - KF225779), as well as an Arizona DPS at KF225785. Hope that helps...

It depends. We've seen NCSHP cars with a single black paint color from the factory that were likely painted by the agency with silver accent. Some agencies also ran unmarked units. Can you post a picture of the VIN label?

As soon as I ran Carfax and found out that it was hit by another car on its side... I mentioned this to the seller and asked how bad it was hit all he said was "I sold it".. so as of late I had been so gun shy.. the first thing I do now is a Carfax..
