We can never see too many SSP pictures, as far as I'm concerned. :) Nice find! This car's VIN is four digits off from a confirmed 1992 Nevada HP Mustang, which has the same DSO number:

Given that the DSO matches another Nevada car, I would say that this one is a NHP Mustang. :)

Oh I didn't mention it here, but I've checked the vin database and dso decoders and found some but not a lot of info. It could be either a chp car or an nhp car. It's a couple of digits off of nhp cars. But hey! What do I know? I'm just a fng.

Very few are too far gone, so smile, pack a big lunch, get out your wallet and tools. Jump in but be aware it is an addiction. Everyone here is infected.:)

Congrats. Have you purchased a Marti Report as yet?

I did, it should've here by the 11th. That should answer my questions.

Once you have your Marti Report, please post it up and we will add it to the new VIN Project page for this SSP -

Chp mustangs never came with blue interiors :)
Nice save, would be cool to see it done back up in NHP colors!

The plan so far is to get it mechanically sound. Then eventually paint it the nhp scheme. Nice and clean.

Picked it up yesterday and drove it over 100 miles home. It's got issues, but it could be worse.

Thanks for the words of encouragement.

It's nice to see a car like this surface and end up with someone who is willing to "save" it. :) Thanks for posting the Marti Report, which I added to the page for your SSP in our VIN Project.

Im still trying to find its unit number, but so far... no luck.

Ive lightly sanded the rear bumper, no luck.

Ive used paint thinner and removed the white paint from the drivers side door jam, nothing...

I have searched for a unit i.d. or sticker under the hood, nada!

Gas filler door.... NOTHING!

Man! The only tell tale signs are the antenna holes at the back end of the car, the hole in the roof that matches the jetsonic lightbar, and the twin bar sticker remains on both doors.

Im pulling the interior out, and hopefully when i get the carpet out, that may yield something?

Thanks for watching and advise.

Dave

Good luck. Maybe you'll find the build sheet hidden behind a trim panel or under the carpet. :)

Morning,

Just thought I'd post an update. After pulling the interior out of the car. I found... Nothing... No build sheet or paperwork. I'm still working on finding out its history. The only true identifying marks on the car are it's door stripe location and antenna holes. I'm going through online photos and have not been able to find my car. I've reached out to some friends at NHP. We will see.

Next on my list is to pull the engine, trans, and exhaust. Then it goes to the body shop to get its blue and silver back on.

Any updates lately?

No real updates. Still finishing other projects. I have a small garage and need to make room. The next stage for me is pull the engine and transmission. Oh and exhaust. Then it's off to paint and body.

Nice to have an in-service photo, albeit under much better circumstances. Still, it is very important to remember our fallen officers.

Just a quick update. I started to pull the engine and driveline. I tried to attach pictures, but they were too large.
