Welllll, That's ok. It was not the correct one anyway. FHP for that period used the Motorola HT90 radios. That one was for the MT100, HT600 etc which were newer and much thinner. Gotta look for the one for the HT90. A lot of the cars just used the small switch box to turn on the Pac/RT. You can see one of those on my fotki site and also how a lot of the Pac/RT's were mounted. Some were mounted on the other side of the trunk, not piggy backed to the micor drawer unit.

It was the same one pictured on the resto doc. I think the seller was just listing all those radio numbers to get hits on his ebay listing.

They look identical but the one for the HT90 has a different "pocket" dimension for the radio to set in. I'll look and see if I can find the correct Motorola part # for it.

Dang it Bud, you were right. I dug out my convertacom (same one on that ebay link) and checked it with my HT90..... and it didn't fit. I did some looking around online and I think the correct one would be a NTN4266, could you confirm?

I'm still trying to find the correct model#. The NTN4266 isn't it either. That is a newer version that you can use an amp with and a full size palm mic. It is flatter , wider and is made with a plastic housing. I"m looking thru a bunch of manuals, notes and checking with some Motorola friends to get the correct model #. Hopefully something will come up soon.

Thanks Bud. Look at this pic I posted here recently, it's from 90 or 91 and shows a HT90 in a convertacom, which I think is a 4266, although it's in a Caprice.

That is a 4266, maybe they used both. The 4266 was more like a converta com. If you look close you can see a cable hooked to the universal connector on the HT90. There is a volume control on the 4266 and you can use a full size mic with the unit and an amp was an option for it. It is a neat way to make a portable into a mobile unit but not easy to take the portable out of the car and use the Pac/RT as it was set up for. That was the nice thing about the unit we are looking for, when you got on scene and the control unit was switched on you just pulled the HT90 unit and the Pac /RT went on and you used the set up as a cross band repeater. UHF HT90 (2-4 watts) and VHF Micor full 110 watts.

The NTN4266A is compatible with a Pac/RT set up also tho.
