I can't wait to see my car one of these days in similar shape. Of course two will be black and white and one all white. It does look like excellent progress and it will look awesome when completed.

I can't wait to get it all together and start taking it to shows. I have so many things to put in the car and so on. After it is all together I will be selling all the extra stuff that I don't need or I don't choose to put in the car. Keep your eye open for them. For now I am having a hard time finding the correct Jetsonic lightbar so if any one knows of one please PM me.

That is going to look awesome. Your attention to detail shows in those buck tag pics. There is no way the car won't look fantastic with that kind of detail. Keep up the good work and keep us updated. You are motivating me on the 93..

OK I have to ask, what is with the mint green late seventies looking Catalina in the background...

The painter likes to do some restorations to keep his skill up. He tells me that 98% of his work is insurance related and with new cars there is no challenge because everything is taking off and put a new piece. He likes it when an old car comes in and accepted by the owner, for repairs and paint.

The official word today from the shop owner is that the car will be at home on Friday 9/7/07. That is good news because on Sat. we in S. FLA have the 911 run. Pictures will be posted and I hope all of you from S. FLA show up. Sunday will be the 1st day of work to put the car together.

Here are the latest pictures. The black has some dust from the shop on them and the trunk was ready to have the clear painted on.

The pictures are not the greatest. Today I had several issues with the way some parts were put together. Attention to detail is usually a missing art for so many people. Most people think only about quantity and not quality. I hope it will be fixed soon. http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c371/jarhed123/1986%20FHP%20SSP/SSP109.jpg

I got the wheels on the car today and the lightbar has arrived. Now I need to paint the dash, run all the cables from the radio and radio equipment and then I will put in the interrior.

Well I spent the entire weekend working on the car and I have got it completed!! Here are only two pictures but many other new ones are on my photobucket (Follow the link). I had some minor lighting issues but FHP813 was kind enough to help me out with them. I encourage you guys to give any feedback on the car/equipment/ or technical stuff that you might see wrong on the car (Don't hold back). I prefer to hear it from you guys than some snot nose kid at a show laughing and pointing the car while saying, "That is wrong with your car. My daddy said it is supposed to be like this."

Interior is complete minus the radio. I can't figure out how to stick it in and I can't find out how to put it in from the back. (Don't think dirty)

Excellent work! Couple questions... I just pulled my buck tags off the other night. Did you re-paint yours in the pic on the other page? Are those the origional seats and coverings? They look exactlly like mine.

jarhed123
11-01-2007, 04:50 PM
The buck tags I took off when it left to the body shop. I did not want them to get lost or damaged. I stripped them down to the aluminum base and then repainted them black. Afterwards I passed a piece of cloth with some fingernail polish remover over the raised letters so that it could be legible in any event that I get stopped or asked at a show about the original paint scheme. As far as the seats, they are the original seats, as far as I know, and all FHP Mustangs from 1984-1989 had the tan interior.
