I started pulling trim off the car today. This is so I can start the body work and last bit of rust repair. Still have a few more items to pull after a trip to the car wash. Been raining here and my well water has a lot of rust in it. I still have to remove the rest of the trim tape also.

I pulled the rest of the body molding today and the minors. Then I braved the cold and went to the car wash. I used a mix of Dawn and Purple Power to hand wash the car. After getting back home I dewaxed -Degreased the roof. Then sanded it with a DA and 220 grit. When that was done I cut the rust out of the lower quarter. Tomorrow I will pull the tire and make sure all the rust and prep work is done. Then cut the patch panel and put it in. Waiting to pull quarter windows till last ( want to keep as much dust out of the interior as possible).

Update! The car is sanded and rust repair finished (found more as I was sanding the car). All dents pulled and body ready for skim coat of filler where needed. We have planed on doing that this coming up weekend. I have also been pulling window tint off so I can have it redone. Most of the back interior has been pulled out. This will make it easier to pull quarter windows and to get at back window for re-tint job.

A little update. Found a previous repair, and sanded it out. Now have to pull and hammer the dent back into shape. Also started refinishing my rims. Have more time and the money I save can go towards more parts!

Darn weather!!! We were going to finishes the body work on Thursday. Ice storm changed our plans! Good news is power came back on yesterday afternoon. Bad news is I am working a 48 hour shift and won't get home till tommorow morning. Then I have to find out when the guy helping me has time again! I guess this is my own form of body shop hell!

Quick update. Just back home from NC. Dropped car off at body shop to get professional paint and body man to put color on and look over my body work. He found some places I missed and aliened body panels. Should be picking car up Wednesday of Thursday of next week. Have to give Kevin a big thanks for working the car in around his other jobs.

Why is it there is always a last minute problem? I put front pads on and brake lines while I had car in my shop. When loading the car to go to the body shop brakes were soft. I spend most of the day replacing master cylinder and bleeding the brakes. Still no luck. So I placed vise grips on both front lines and have firm pedal. Release either vise grip and soft pedal again. So I have new calipers and rubber lines on the way. So I will spend the first half of the day working on the brakes again! The good thing is only 1 pice of body molding left to be put on. Then the power wires for the CB and the led lights need hooked up.

I feel your pain. I took the 85 Idaho car to the body shop two years ago with plans to take it to the 50th. It still isn't painted. he does fantastic work but this is beyond outragious.

Yes I am looking for a new painter.

Well got brakes fixed. Left out later in the day than I want too. But I am in Concord now. But on the way car started to miss. Now to figure out if it is the plugs or a fuel problem. But I am here.

I think that I might have found the problem. I had to run out and buy new shoes. (Been working on car so much that I put on old work shoes) So as I live the mall no head lights or front parking lights. Make it back to motel. Luckily the only cop that I passed was right at the entrance. So start checking switches and wiring. Find that the plug that hooks the front harness into the main harness has come unhooked. Now I have lights and the same harness carries the mass airflow wiring. This also explains the loss in power that I had.
