I wonder how these cars were used? Avis could have leased them to any agency or government body. Or maybe they went out as rentals in their general fleet?

Good Day... I am the new owner of 158120 and looking at interior mine has scuff marks as to where the front radar was possibly mounted in the dash, and also where the mic was attached to the dash pad. After closer inspection I also found that in the passenger rear side trunk and quarter panel it has three holes as to a possible antenna mount, so maybe as a undercover/radar unit, not sure. It would be nice to actually know.

Thanks for posting the photos of your SSP. I heard from the seller of the silver car that it has been sold. Attached is a photo from the ebay ad several years ago of 158119 (which may also be an "AVIS" car), which said that car has served near Washington DC, in case that helps you with 158120.

I wonder if the Virginia request for title history would name the original agency? If it was a leased vehicle, then the title may have been assigned to Avis and then the car was sold to the first civilian owner. It would still be worth trying...

Not sure how much help AVIS may be...my good friend owns a 1993 Cobra which was originally put into service by AVIS...they wouldnt give him the time of day....kinda crazy.
