Thought you guys might enjoy this. It's modeled after my own 1984 Texas SSP.

Very nice! I had trouble seeing the page originally, but it is working now. I have attached a screenshot for safekeeping. ;) If you have more that you have taken, please post 'em up! :)

The link on Rebrick will direct you to mocpages, which has all the pics and the info behind the model. I also have the pics posted on flickr. Links are below. I've also used the model as the basis for a white 1985 SVO, red 1993 Cobra, and a purple 1987 LX Notchback drag car (complete with a Harwood scoop, airfoil, parachute, and wheelie bars). The SVO already has pics up on Flickr, the others should be up by tonight.

I used LEGO Digital Designer to build it, so for now it only exists digitally. It would cost around $220 to build, at the current rate of roughly $.10/piece. The program does compile parts lists and create building instructions though, so it is possible to make this a real model.

Wow! Will it actually compile a list and put together instructions? If no one else is willing, I'll take a stab at it.... Let me know how I order it.

LEGO used to allow you to create custom sets with Digital Designer, then order them, complete with custom packaging. Unfortunately they put a stop to the practice 2 years ago. I can still create instructions and parts lists, but from there you have to source the parts yourself. LEGO offers the Pick-A-Brick service, and there are a few independant sellers online. The real trick is making sure all the pieces in the required colors are available (chrome gets tricky, but can sometimes be replaced with light gray). I can customize the model to specific departments, and I have been doing the later noses. Decals are up to the user.
