I'm selling my '86 Ex Texas DPS state trooper car. The car is perfectly solid, and still retains the original Speedo, has one of the bucktags (the other looks like it ripped off but I will take pictures and post them) and the door tag is there and legible. Floor pan brace is still there as well. There is no rust on the bottom of the trunklid, floors, anywhere. It needs a motor/driveline and rear end, and a general resto other than that but is a great start for such a rare car. Just looking to get what I paid for it, $500.

How much wiring is in the car? Can you take some pictures of the engine compartment for me? I might have someone that can take this and have it running real quick with and 86 gt that is wrecked.

Chris, can you also post up some pictures of the rear interior as well as the interior trunk area?

Thanks,
Matt

I have to go get pictures for a couple people, the engine bay wiring looked to be in good shape, the rear seat is there but faded as well as the rear interior plastic. The trunk lining stuff was missing if I remember correctly, I'll get pictures and post them up probably tomorrow. I forgot to mention, the gas tank is missing as well. Thanks!

The box with the red and green buttons is likely an early car alarm. We had one in our 1991 caprice that was installed that looked almost identical. Even had a huge garage door opener sized pager that would alert you when someone tried to break in. :)

You and me both! I have no room or anymore budget for another one.

Here are some more pictures I took this morning, for those who are interested. The seat braces are there, although someone took a tin snipper or something to the floor for no apparent reason on the driver's side (see picture), it could be welded back up real easily. You can see that the front fender is bent up behind the extention, which is why I would replace both front fenders (they are both like this) and you can see the bucktag hanging down from the core support. I forgot to get a picture of it, but I can if someone really needs it. There is a little bit of scaling starting in the spare tire well, but nothing that couldn't be sandblasted and taken care of; there are no holes. The headliner is actually in great shape, the rear seat might clean up but could probably use a re-dye on the very top. Rear 1/4 panel plastics look like they just need to be cleaned, and the door panels are probably savable. After looking it over, it's really not as much of a project as I had thought it was. The wiring is in good shape.

If there are any questions, please ask and I will answer as best I can. Just want the car to go to a good home and get the attention it deserves, I have a soft spot for the '85-86s and don't want it sitting down here when someone else might be able to get it back on the road.

Ok maybe two or three more pictures will be it for me.

1 of the dash/cluster area
1 of the A-pillars
1 of the 1/4 panels to see what the work was being done to them.

Ok maybe that's like 5-6. I am just curious as to the total condition of this chassis.

The door panels can be saved for sure as FEP has a restoration Co. on there selling the replacement boards for the bottom of the door panels for the 4 eyed cars.

I have see a few cars with good red seats and carpet in them recently.

I cannot figure out what they were doing with the 1/4 panels, it definitely does not look like they have been replaced, I can't find any evidence of that at all, you can just tell by how solid and straight the car is too that that is very unlikely. There is a very very small dent at the rear of the driver's 1/4, that once a taillight lense was on there you wouldn't be able to see it... but it's so small I can't see what they'd be doing with the rest of the 1/4. I took a picture from the inside of the 1/4 as well so you can see there are no holes, it is solid and there are no waves.

Also, you can see the bondo on the A pillar where the light was mounted, and you can see the holes on the inside plastics on both pillars. There is also a picture of the rear deck where the radio antenna was mounted, and more pictures of the gauge cluster for you.

I ran my hand over the 1/4 to feel for any waves, bondo anything like that and could not find any, and I've got a pretty good eye for the stuff. If there is any work to be done, it's not going to be much.

Well if I had space and the extra cash I would come and pick this car up from you. I have a lot of parts that I need to sell and clear out another car though first.

I will pass the pictures on to my friend.

Godd luck.
