I am trying to find the value of my car. I have been unable to find any information on this car. Any assistants will be appreciated.

It's a SCHP (South Carolina Highway Patrol) #2-12-146.

So this confirms my theory, it is a schp, how could I get proof, and this is confirmation correct?

One more thing was this a unmarked unit or a marked unit with lights

It is a confirmed SCHP for several reasons...

It has SCHP special paint color codes (W2813 M6330) on the door tag
It has the same DSO (22-0078) on the door tag as other known SCHPs
It has an SCHP unit number (#2-12-146) stenciled on the door jamb
It's VIN is between other known SCHPs

One more thing was this a unmarked unit or a marked unit with lights
Since it has SCHP special paint color codes (http://www.specialservicemustang.net/forums/showthread.php?t=4428) on the door tag it was a 'marked' unit.

^ ^ ^ All the right answers ^ ^ ^

To further explain the 2-12-146 unit number on your doorjam -

2 = Patrol Unit
12 = Mustang
146 = the 146th Mustang put into service by the SCHP

What are your plans for the car?

As far as obtaining info from the SCHP, it's almost impossible. All of the records on the mustangs were before the computer system filings, so the paperwork is sitting in a warehouse in Columbia somewhere. The car's worth is whatever someone is willing to pay for it IMO. If you are interested in selling the car let me know, i'm local.. By the way, cool car!

Thanks for the photos. We used them to add your SSP to our VIN Project -

It's tough for me to say off-hand. These cars are not worth nearly enough because it is way too easy to spend more money completing a restoration than the car will ever be worth (at least in the near future). Since you are looking to sell it, I recommend that you look through our classifieds section to see what other folks have been asking for theirs.

If I should post this elsewhere, let me know and I'll step out of this thread.

I too have a SCHP car. It's a 1993, unit # 2.12.465. Last 6 of the VIN is 164516.

I'm trying to find out if my car was unmarked or marked. I don't find any holes in the roof, etc, interesting is that the DSO is 21, not 22, and the paint code is YN, not the "special paint". Is there a way to determine if it was an unmarked car?

By the number that you have listed, your mustang was the 465th mustang that the SCHP issued out from day one. What color is the car currently?

It is silver all over. I'm not sure if it's paint code YN or not but it's a bright silver color.
