As the title says, I am looking for the large map light that goes between the sun visors on the headliner. Whatcha got?

I can't believe no one has one of these.

I have a few....buried in storage, though. How quickly are you looking to get one? There are usually a couple on eBay (or there used to be...I haven't checked in quite awhile).

I'm not in a big hurry. I would just like to have one. I want to add a few things back to the car to let people know it was a patrol car.

you are lookng for the big round light that went between the visors right? I know the map light was removed from the Mustangs in 92 and focussed beams were put on the center interior dome light. the pre 92 map light was a metal swivel light that folded up and down from the center between the visors.

I'll see if I can get out there this weekend and take a look. I know I have 3 or 4 extras.

Yes, that's it. You can see an impression of it in my headliner and the guy I bought it from said he took it out. I should have asked him if he still had it, but I didn't.

That would be excellent. What would you want for one?

If I can find one, it's yours (no $$).

That is very nice of you. I'll at least pay for shipping. Just let me know. Thanks again.

Do you have a pic? Didn't they come with non-clear bubbles?

I'll get a picture posted tonight when I get home. Every department will use different types of done lights, at the same time. In our department we have used three different types within a five year period. Most probably yours did use the standard one but it is never a for sure thing.

That looks pretty nice. Unfortunately I don't really have much money to spend on one. Mike offered me one for no charge and I am going to pay him shipping. That's about all I can do at the moment. Thanks for the offer though.

Which ever style light you prefer. I got this one from an old pool car so just shipping is just fine with me.

Not sure if this one would work. The imprint in the headliner has three screw holes parrellel with the windshield. Does this make sense?

Mike,
Do any of the ones you have have this screw arrangement?

Jeremy,

I personally haven't seen the style posted in this thread in a Mustang. Maybe the other style was in some of the earlier cars?? The ones I have are the plastic-style, which is exactly what's in my '93 FHP (and was in my old '92, also). I'd have to look at one to see if the mounting holes match what you are describing.

For the most part, I too have noticed the plastic style on Mustangs. But for an example of how these vary, look at the '93 BSO SSP in my photo bucket. This unit is still in service in our department.

Will do. I did almost 26 hours straight at work Thurs-Fri, and I'm going back in today. I'll try to get by storage tomorrow and grab one for you.
