Got invited to join in with lots of local fire apparatus recently at Bodega Volunteer FD's annual parade and BBQ. Fun stuff with great folks and it's always enjoyable to be able to take pics of these cars in their natural element rather than on yet another show ground parking lot or lawn.

Thanks guys, I'm amazed that my car still looks so good after all the showing and sharing I've done during the past 10 years. It's sure no trailer queen as I've put over 20,000 miles of driving on it to get to these events since the major restoration was completed.

Now that there are a bunch more restored CHP SSPs out here to share that duty I've scaled back and now want to mainly concentrate on preserving #3035.

So I purchased a new project last year that been keeping me busy...but I'll expand on that in a new thread. ;)

Great job as the caretaker! :2thumbs:

Michael, that's great you have been showing your Mustang at these various events. I hope to see you (and perhaps John) at some future events when 0327 is ready.

I plan to drive 0327 to events. I really do not want to trailer it.

Steve, don't be shy about bringing your car out to show while you restore it. In-progress cars are welcome in the Daily Driver class at the Ripon EV Show and I brought mine there for three years while I was working on it and collecting equipment to complete the project. Folks LOVE seeing these and it was a great way to make connections, work out the mechanical bugs and get some reliability runs in before the car went into "paint jail."

BTW, a great local opportunity for you to catch some restored CHP cars is coming up. The Hollister-Gilroy CHP office is hosting a mini-car show of vintage police vehicles in conjunction with the Downtown Gilroy Chili Cook-Off on Saturday, June 10. There will be about a dozen cars there. My car will be on display as well as a 1981 CHP AMC Eagle and 2001 and 2002 CHP Camaros. Check it out!

I'll be at the Ripon Emergency Vehicle show this year for sure, perhaps I'll see you there. If I had a 'Special Service Mustang.net" T shirt I'd wear it so I could be identified, LOL...

Ironically, I think Mike was talking of having some made up a few years ago.
