I say again, because this poor car has been for sale on both SSP forums, Craigslist and Ebay multiple times over the last decade. Flipped, modified, driven and sit out in the weather. It's been from Florida to Ohio, New York, New Jersey and now North Carolina. Hopefully we can stop the madness and bring this car back to it's original glory.

It's 1 of 50, apparently not a Florida turnpike car, no clue of the unit number or Troop, vin is 206959. Came with lots of FHP goodies, not so period correct. Paint is bad but can be brought back, some rust spots, interior is ok. Under the butchered and scooped hood we have hacked wiring, a non-original, modified '86 5.0 from a Tbird/Merc/Lincoln car. Runs but smokes badly. Haven't checked the T5 yet, rear end looks to be original.

My plans? In the end a full FHP restoration. Until then I intend to keep it drivable and do weekend style repairs. The biggest of which is the engine. I have a stock, low mile 88 5.0 engine that I'm currently cleaning and converting to look like a correct 84 5.0. Then on to touching up the black paint (with proper hood) and add back the cream.

I've been "rescuing" Mustangs for going on 25+ years. I'm down to my 2 most favorite, my 83 NCSHP and this 84 FHP. Now that I have these 2 I'm putting down the wrenches, and closing up the corral for other pony projects.

On to the pics, oldest ones I can find from '07-08 ish.

So glad you ended up with the car chief. Looking forward to see how she ends up. Glad I held onto it for as long as I did!

Exhaust removed, better deck lid and correct hood ready to install, trunk cleaned out, rear wiring harnesses repaired, aftermarket gauges removed, shifter bezel repaired, also counting the layers of paint. Lots to do but the process has begun.

Tweaking the non-original engine before I remove it. I'd like to have it running good before I pluck it from between the shock towers. Seems to be mildly modded with random hi-po parts, including a marine engine cast iron timing cover. I have NEVER seen one in person before, crazy.

I'm glad to have it too! Seems the guy you sold it too didn't send everything with it. Nor was it taken care of. All good now!

Haven't updated in a while. 84 FHP is coming along slowly. Working on 2 rare FHP's at the same time, crazy fun! Replaced scooped hood and peeling trunk deckled with better ones. Removed some aftermarket goodies. The engine in the car runs much better, it's temporary while I refresh the engine that goes into it.
