Just to update. She now runs! Finally got the unique carb parts in, rebuilt the carb, cleaned out the fuel lines, new fuel pump, cleaned an original fuel tank and installed. Runs great! Next up is addressing the cooling system, then it's time for her first drive in many years...

This is interesting. Still has B&W paint scheme. And that black X on the doors. Makes me wonder if this was used as an EVOC vehicle after retirement from the field.

Interesting. Never thought about that. This car is so original it scares me. How can we learn more about it?

I'd start tracing back its history starting with the last owner. I'm guessing it hasn't had many. I wonder how it could have gotten out of Motor Transport, to the public, without being repainted. A lucky find; I like the originality.

Are you going to leave the body as-is? There's a handful of restored 82's, but yours is in such great condition as it looks now that I wouldn't want to paint it. It's your car to do as you want, but I think it looks great the way it is.

Yes indeed, the body is staying as is. I'm keeping it as original as deemed safe. I'll post an update on it today.
