I've seen this mentioned in other threads but can't find any specific information on the division or the vehicles, especially Mustangs.

Were these cars specifically marked for commercial vehicle enforcement? I ask because I currently work as a commercial vehicle division officer for WSP and I think this should be documented as part of the WSPs history.

WSP commercial vehicle enforcement has been a part of the agency since 1984 (retiring the "weight control officer title) and was amalgamated into a single bureau in 2006.

Today we utilize a mix of Durangos, Explorers, F-150s and Silverados. Most are uniquely marked as commercial enforcement units and some vehicles are unmarked.

Any info is appreciated!

There were several specialty vehicles utilized for WSP commercial vehicle enforcement throughout the 80"s and 90's, some of which were mustangs. All of these unmarked vehicles utilized for this purpose were operated by troopers. They were nicknamed "truck enforcement mustangs" no markings, different colors, and assigned to the districts, not to any specific trooper. So basically, the cars rotated throughout the district and APAs driven by whoever the Sgt assigned to them. Seeing these cars were not permanently assigned to personnel they got driven pretty hard and passed along to the next operator. Although truck enforcement was the focus of these unmarked vehicles, any aggressive driver caught their attention.

That’s an odd set of rear window louvers on the blue coupe. Were those added by the Fleet install?

What’s the story behind those and does anyone know what aftermarket brand (just curious of brand)? I do remember back then there were aftermarket rear louver for the coupes but they were more contoured and covered all of the rear glass (not just the center).
