That does look like a solid SSP. Nice car and a previous post was right, the research on these cars is half the fun...although frustrating at times!

Welcome Mark. I remember discussing your car on the other board when it came up for sale on eBay a while back. Here's one of the photos from the ad that I marked up to show how it was an ex-CHP car:

Looks like you're making good progress, glad to see another one saved. What are you plans for the car?

thanks for the welcome!eventually i plan to paint it black and white again,i may not get a full blown resto for a while but i want to make it a good driver and toy.i don't plan on any modifications as it is pretty close to stock, right down to the original exhaust with the ground straps on it.i saw the link with the pics of the inside of my car but i couldn't reply because i wasn't approved as a new member.

Welcome to the sight. Your car looks very solid and I am sure it will be a fine contribution to research and information to others while you do your resto.

I remember this car too... Looks like you got a solid one and it will make a good driver for a while while you get more taken care of on it.

Welcome to the site!

Good luck.

well,i ran a carfax today.it shows that in 88 it was titled in sacramento and in 90 it was titled for police use in torrance,ca.then in 92 it was at auction in colorado where it has been since then.when it went to auction it shows 11,477 miles so i am not sure what the real miles were.

markCHP turns them out at 100k so the '92 mileage may have been 111,477. Looks like your car was built one month after mine.

Keep us posted on your progress!

Welcome Mark,

lots of great guys and information here. Be sure to check out the restoration document as it is the only one known to exist. Imevil did a great job compiling the information from his own research and from input from other members here. Good luck with your restoration and we will help you out any way we can.
