I have one from the officer who drove the car. It is sitting in his driveway at his home. I will scan it and upload it soon. I have been in close contact with him. The whole Winterpark PD department is excited to see the final product. It looks exact except for the black 10-holes.

really nice job on that one. The only thing I would get rid of is the 5.0/police interceptor emblems for regular 5.0 emblems. That car does look great though.

I am very happy on how it turned out. Attatched is the link of the "process" of completing it.

(I will have to upload pictures of the interior as it is also 100% perfect, like the undercarriage and engine bay)

One of the pictures is of the "custom bracket" that we made for the PA 300 controller to fit neatly below the radio instead of attached to the console. This may not exactly be "factory" item (although the bracket is made by Federal Signal with some modification), but it cleans up the console area nicely.

I have not had the courage to tally up the receipts but am quite confident it far exceeds the value and I don't care. I don't ever plan on selling it and did it 100% correct.Ha! I never have done that and like you, it doesn't matter to me either. The only thing that's important is that you're satisfied with the end product and ready to enjoy it. Congrats on an awesome restoration so now get out there and show it off!

Thanks! My last "piece to the puzzle" was the replacement of the rear "package tray" (from FMR) and changing the Galls round strobes to Whelen Dashmiser(s) to match the front mirror mount dual red/blue Dashmiser.

I was only keeping the Galls (rounds) as I did not want ANOTHER set of holes in the old package tray installing the Whelen's. I will upload a picture soon :D

Yes, they are "enthralled" by it. I just spoke today to the assistant chief, feet manager and patrolman who drove the vehicle. They are sending up a box of goodies consisting of hats, sweaters, t-shirts etc all with the Winterpark Police patch on them.

Nice "props" for future shows.

I am down in Orlando on business this week and had dinner in Winter Park last night. It looks like the police cars still have the same or similar markings on them as yours. Sorry, no pics. Lots of $$$ in that town. It would be cool to have a picture of your car cruising the cobblestone paved Park Ave.

Winterpark SSP
05-16-2008, 08:55 PM
That is what I have heard....lots of $$$ down there as it is predominantly a retirment community. That confirms the municipality has disposable income, e.g. switching the SSP's stock rear end gears to 3.55's as one example.

There were probably many high speed pursuits for the "Geritol" thefts at the local Walgreens Pharmacy.:D

Thanks for the feedback!

Attached you will find a picture of the trunk decal that was originally placed by Winter Park PD. I had to have the original graphic company make a special "size" to fit the trunk area. Luckily, the letter outline(s) could still be seen in the clear coat.

This was the last decal I had been waiting to install.

You deserve every bit of it, bro. There are only a handful who have cars restored to the level of yours. Some people like to use that term for what I'd call a refurb...painting a car and doing some detail work. I'm going to start work on my CSP car soon, and I hope my car comes out half as nice as yours.

Forgive me for bumping a very old thread, but I was curious about this car. Can a knowledgeable old-timer confirm if the beautiful SSP in this thread is the same one we have in our VIN Project -

I'm glad you did, as I don't remember this thread at all (part of being almost 60, I guess). I'm curious if he ever put the correct in-service wheels on it. I'd have the LEO who drove it sign the trunk, but I don't think I would have anyone else not associated with it sign it, but that's just me. Don't get me wrong I love the top notch restoration and final product, but I'm a stickler for historical accuracy (for the most part, but I have made some exceptions on my SSPs due to cost or availability of equipment/parts).

Always thought that was such a cool car and I think the signature was from an owner prior to the one doing the winter park configuration.

A previous owner had Jack Rousch sign the roof of his 1988 CHP EVOC car...thank goodness the next owner had the excellent insight to wipe it right off of there! (No offense Jack.)
