With time I have come to learn that if you don't start on the restoration just after you buy the car you might never get started. The last car I restored, FHP 0293, I had it about 12 hours before I did exactly what I am now doing to this one.

Today I spent the day at the shop sanding and filling minor holes. No new pictures from today.

I completely understand that. I had a 1928 Model A (hence my username) that I tinkered with for a few years (it was not road-worthy). It would sit for extended periods, and I finally decided to sell it to somebody who would finish restoring it.

I find that I can maintain my momentum while working on a car as long as I keep it running on the street. I'm sure I'm not the only one like that.

The last couple of days I have been blocking the car, primed the car, and continued blocking the car. I hope to have the car primed again and with the engine removed by the end of the day tomorrow. The Driver's door has more rust than I care for but I'll try to work with it as much as possible because I don't want to loose the door sticker. Eight new pics on my photobucket.

About the door.

There was an article in MM&FF on their Project White Trash car where they bought a new outer door skin and keep the inner. I'll see if I can scan it some time later.

Thanks

Great progress...looking good Marcos.

Did you decide on the final color(s)?

jarhed123 12-25-2008 12:55 AM

Car will be white roof and white inside the doors. The rest will be black with moldings. When I can buy another car to drive around I will only have to remove the door moldings and paint the outter skin of the doors white.

For the past several days/weeks I have been working on my car. It is ready for its last primer but prior to that I had removed the engine and transmission. Now I need to get the engine compartment cleaned and ready for paint. Check out the pictures:
