Thanks Bill! And all the rest of you for your advice. I just had a hard time deciding which path to take with this car. Now I know and can build appropriately. I'd like to do the magnectic decals, too. Although I won't be driving it as much as I used to. I'm kind of stuck driving a truck to work. Kind of hard to carry lumber in a Mustang.

Did you notice if the car had a rollbar ever installed? Maybe it was an EVOC (long-shot, I know). An SMPV perhaps?

I have not pulled the carpet out yet to see if there are marks left from a rollbar.

I agree with Mike (ABN2060), I would restore it to how it left the Dearborn Assembly Plant: B&W, with no equipment. That being said, I DO think it would be cool to have magnetic decals made to slap on when you show the car (without all the electronics) as a what should have been and complete the intended look from when it was built. I agree with you, Toshi, that a full marked and equipment "resto" would be kind of a clone, although not as bad as a real clown car (4 cyl conversion).

There weren't any '93 Mustang EVOC cars made by the CHP so you shouldn't find any.

Be sure to check the backsides of the rear seat cushions and the face of the front license plate holder for an ID#, they are sometimes marked there.

Done those checks. Sadly, nothing there. :No no:

How would you feel about installing the antennas that would normally have been on the trunck and quarter panel? Remember, there are no holes indicating that such antennas were ever installed.

If you are going for an in-service restoration, then you'll need to go all the way and drill the holes that the CHP would have done to your car. Just remember - measure twice, cut once! ;)

[and I'm sure the members here will assist you in finding the right spots to drill]

Maybe I'll do the antenna's before paint. That way, if I screw it up... Anyway, first things first. I gotta get some rubber on those rims that are still at the shop. Otherwise the only place I can run would be on a train track. :D
