Join the club...I think it's been said that it's better to ask for forgiveness than for permission...although one must be thoughtful about when to use that and how often to do so.

As for the radio equipment, I have some more coming from our friend in CA (not the contact mentioned above by Bill). I'm not sure if there will be any more CC1s from him, but it doesn't get any better than the radios still marked with CHP property stickers (surplused years ago). I definitely have 2 more available, and probably more after that.
Also, check out some of the restoration-related pics and info we have in the CHP resto section if you haven't already.

Mike,

Please keep me posted on the CHP radio equipment. I have a CC1 coming from Mr Read that will be a working unit. He also designed a wiring harness that makes all of the CHP electrical devices operational (including the locking shotgun rack). I still need the correct Motorola Micor head unit, Regency M100 (or MX3000) scanner, and one of the back units under the package shelf (not sure which one).

Thanks!

Congrats on the purchase...you made my wife very happy. I am glad someone with good intentions bought her. Can not wait to watch your progress on her.

Will do. Did he send you the correct rack for your car?

It hasn't come yet. I know that it may take a little effort to get the shotgun rack positioned properly. It should come with the CC1, along with the original animal snare clips for the rear decklid.

OK...let me know. The one he sent me isn't correct.
