Thanks for the research help. I called the local yards today and no one had any early Fox Mustangs. I had been finding variances of the part number online and was going to ask what the difference was, if any. Mine ends in A7A and I found an A3A. In some ads, there was an interchange check and each of the '90+ pulleys said they were not compatible with my 1982.

So this one says it works for all 5.0 Mustangs from 1979 to 1993?

Based on the part number prefix D9Z follows as a design year of 1979. From my cross index that I have it states through 1993 as the designated part number. Best I can tell, it's accurate.

Anyone heard of or used www.fordpartsgiant.com? CJ Pony Parts says it normally ships in 5-7 days. FPG says they ship same day and are actually a few dollars cheaper. Never heard of 'em before. No record on the BBB site, yeah or nay.

I need to get a pulley quick so I can complete this part of the project and get the car mobile again. I hate the thought of it sitting there helpless.

I just looked again, Jim, and didn't see anything.

It was such a busy and hectic week, I never got one ordered. I was hoping to get it back together this weekend. :(

Thanks for the link, smokin5.0, I may end up paying a little more to get that one.

Found this one on eBay, 35 bucks and free shipping.

The eBay one is used, might want to make sure it wasn't pulled the way you pulled yours.

Wolfe1013 07-01-2011 10:55 PM

Ha! You mean attempted to pull.

Yeah, thanks, but I'm looking for new. I have a new pump and all new hoses to go on, so I just want a new pulley. I've been looking at them all, though.

If I had a media blast cabinet and could find a decent used one, I'd get it. But I don't. My neighbor *gave* me one, but it really needs some serious clean up to get the rust off and a re-paint.

I'll order a new one from somewhere hopefully this weekend.

send it to me. I will media blast it and send it back.
